Stone Risers

If the memorial is going to be fitted in a hilly area, an area where grass grows long or if you just like the look of them then stone risers may be needed. Please let us know if so.

At Northern Headstones in Yorkshire, we like to take our time to make each memorial with care, quality, and attention. This includes the way we fit our memorials as this is a very important part of what we do. We fit all our Headstones and Memorials on foundations approx. 2.5 times bigger than most other companies to help with the strength and stability of our memorials for generations to come.

Most companies will just use a top smaller foundation slab as this is the minimum required. At Northern Headstones we use an extra foundation slab underneath as this makes the memorial stronger and more sturdy.

Headstone Installation Guide by Northern Headstones

Almost any Northern Headstones Headstone or Memorial can be made in any size, colour, and shape assuming these are within the burial grounds’ regulations.

Northern Headstones can also provide bespoke additions to a memorial or headstone such as a loved one’s hobby (guitar, bike, car, etc) or a laser sketch photo.

Add Optional Memorial Surround

A Memorial or Headstone Surround includes a border of stone that forms a rectangular edge covering the whole grave plot. Kerb memorials create a set area and allow your loved one’s memorial to receive more privacy in a cemetery. They can have different types of cover slabs or chippings, or alternatively, they can be left open for planting.

Please Note: Northern Headstones offers a FREE 120 letters inscription / lettering service when combining a headstone with any surround.

At Northern Headstones we don’t like any hidden costs – that’s exactly why the price we quote you will be the total. However, there may be a church/cemetery fee that isn’t included in the above and may need to be discussed.
